Take Back Your Life 2

In part one of this series, titled "Take Back Your Life"; we discussed the importance of proper cell function as it relates to wellness. Here in part 2, we will discuss why it is important to feed the organs of your endocrine system to further insure and maintain a state of wellness and optimum health.

Having a well-balanced endocrine system is essential for the achievement of wellness and the attainment of optimum health. The glands of your endocrine system need to be fed the proper raw materials that will support their necessary functions. A hormonal balance is possible with the appropriate endocrine support. When the proper nutrients are provided in the diet, then a well balanced hormonal balance is achieved which will work with the body's immune system, help support the efficient metabolism of fat, and support natural recovery from physical and emotional stress. The nutrients that are necessary are wild yam extract, amino acids and beta sitosterol. Adding these components to your diet will make it possible to achieve the desired endocrine system performance resulting in an enhanced state of wellness and optimum health.

It is most efficient, in today's environment of dietary uncertainty, to wisely supplement our normal food intake with a herbal amino-acid dietary product that is able to provide what is needed for proper endocrine support. It is important to select such a product that is of the highest quality whose ingredients have been properly assayed. Because the naturally occurring levels of these ingredients vary greatly from plant to plant, standardization ensures that the wild yam used contains optimal levels of the beneficial ingredients. A product with high concentrations of natural plant-based phytosterols and steroidal saponins derived from Dioscorea villosa, or Mexican wild yam is most desirable in this instance.

Selecting and regularly using such a dietary supplement will contribute to a well functioning endocrine system and work with the body's immune system to help give protection from diseases and other conditions including cancers, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, and menopausal symptoms. Suppression of hot flushes (or, hot flashes) has also been reported by postmenopausal women who support their dietary intake in this fashion. This type of support may also have health implications regarding the possible prevention of osteoporosis, resulting in the risk of hip fractures. And since loss of bone mass is one of the biomarkers of aging, it is probable that this type of plant-based phytosterol supplementation in the diet will help to insure against this type of degeneration.

There is nothing to suggest that supplementation to the diet of plant-based phytosterols is in any way harmful to humans of any age. In fact, the natural dietary inclusion of these plant based substances has been practiced by humans for centuries. It is only relatively recently that these necessary elements for maintaining wellness have been processed out of our modern dietary foods.

Dietary supplementation that will act to stall cancer cell growth by blocking cancer cell stimulation and exerting an anticancer effect is, in this day and age of the explosion of this kind of disease related deaths, the best health insurance that I know of. If this dietary measure can be protective against breast, prostate, and intestinal cancer as evidence suggests, then we would all benefit from this nutritional strategy. When you add to this obvious advantage, the fact that this nutritional component can also act to lower blood cholesterol and inhibit lipid peroxidation, which are primary factors in cardiovascular disease, then I believe that addition of these plant based phytoestrogens becomes essential to our very survival at a time when chronic disease is rising to epidemic proportions.

The additional protection against estrogen-deficiency symptoms, such as hot flushes and osteoporosis, in postmenopausal women would seem to be a much better alternative than toxic drugs which have negative side effects. Back this up with the fact that these safe, non toxic food supplements are not at all harmful to people of any age, and have in fact been used in the diets of humans for centuries, only relatively recently having been processed out of our modern diets, and I believe that we have yet another powerful tool that will help this machine called the human body to do it's job of defending, protecting, and repairing itself

There is much to support the idea that this type of supplementation will go a long way to help humans deal with the current high stress nature of modern lifestyles. I know that in my household, we cannot run out of endocrine system support food without feeling like we are much less able to cope with day to day stress and cumulative stress we face. I had someone tell me that living at home with his wife and three daughters demonstrated to him that it was very important to achieve a balance in the hormonal chemistry of every family member in order to have harmonious relationships. I believe that no matter what the age or state of health of the individual, all may benefit from this type of dietary supplementation. So, take back your life by enhancing your body's ability to move toward wellness. And remember to move your body, drink plenty of pure water, eat well, and supplement wisely.
